The conditions that the world knows, the Corona pandemic, imposed a set of changes to the educational system, perhaps the most prominent of which is the transition from urban education to distance education, as an educational mechanism based on protection in the first place. An education based on a technological system and another humane system, but this harmony between these two components is based on the degree of motivation present in the learner. That is, the success of the process depends on the same learner . This is at a time when a group of countries have adopted a pattern of rotation between urban education and self-learning; As a new pattern on the components of the educational act; Here, the question arises of the ability of the learner to respond to this change ? Therefore, this research paper will monitor the concept of self-learning and its philosophical and pedagogical foundations, as well as its characteristics and justifications, and its relationship to motivation, as it is a basic building block in achieving self-learning goals, and will determine the role of the family in the learning process.
